Your chance to quiz top council boss on your town centre

Rochdale Council's new Chief Executive has agreed to answer questions from the public and businesses on the future of our town centres at the next High Street Foundation meeting.

Jim Taylor will be in attendance at next Wednesday's High Street Foundation meeting in Middleton and has agreed to answer questions on Twitter from anyone using the hashtag #highstreetfoundation.

Tweeters are being urged to send their questions between 6.45 to 7.15pm.

Welcoming what he described as a "refreshing move" High Street Foundation Chair Paul Turner-Mitchell said:

"People are often asking me questions about the Council's regeneration plans and this is a great opportunity for shoppers and businesses to express their views to the Chief Executive. We've had a lot of false starts in Rochdale where town centre regeneration is concerned and we all want clear answers on where the current plans are up to. Businesses need certainty to inform investment decisions and shoppers want to know whether a better town centre is on the way. I'm glad Jim Taylor has agreed to have an open dialogue with the public about this and I hope other Officers and Councillors will follow his lead."
