I think this was put forward over 2 years ago when we tried introducing Shop Local TV & Shop Local Radio, there wasn't any interest then (even though the radio had a number of adverts produced for Rochdale businesses) it was a service that didn't receive any funding all businesses needed to do was tune in as background noise.
ReplyDeleteAre they now willing to pay for a TV and for an advert to be produced? probably not.
The trouble is, if this is only going to be played in town centre business premises then how is that attracting footfall? they're already there! do a little bit of market research I think you'll find that people who are already in the town know about other shops and services available.
What you need is something that reaches a wider audience to entice shoppers to the Rochdale's high street and not spend money just for the sake of it, Marketing 101.
